Police are investigating burglaries at five pubs in Herefordshire that are believed to have occurred overnight between Monday, September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th.
The pubs include the New Harp Inn at Hoarwithy near Ross-on-Wye, the incidents are as follows;
Incident 195S of 180918
Sometime between 11.30pm on September 17th and 9.30am on September 18th, the Bull Ring Inn in Kingstone, Hereford was broken into. Thieves broke into a fruit machine and a small amount of cash was stolen.
Incident 179S of 180918
Thieves attempted to break in to the Pandy Inn in Dorstone, Hereford overnight. Police were called at 10.10am on September 18th when the occupants realised thieves had tried to break in. Fortunately the occupants dogs may have scared the thieves away. Nothing was stolen.
Incident 152S of 180918
At about 4.30am on September 18th the burglar alarm was activated at the New Harp Inn in Hoarwithy, Hereford after burglars broke in via a window and a small amount of cash was stolen.
Incident 117s of 180918
Sometime between 11pm on September 17th and 8.50am on September 18th, The Mill Restaurant, Poston Mill, Peterchurch was broken into and a small amount of cash stolen including the till drawer and a Christmas Fund box. The till drawer was later found about three miles away on the road leading towards Cockyard and Kingstone.
Incident 98s of 180918
Between 12.30am and 6 45am on September 18th, the Three Horseshoes Inn, Allensmore, Hereford was broken into via the front door. The thieves stole a small amount of cash from a gambling machine.
West Mercia Police are checking CCTV footage and appealing for any witnesses who can assist officers or any information to help them identify the burglars. The investigation is in the early stages and the police say it is too soon to say whether the burglaries are linked.
